We were thinking the temperature was never going to drop from the extended summer we’ve been enjoying. Now we look to our Autumn/Winter wardrobes and layer up knits, scarves and coats to fight the big freeze. The autumn and winter months comprise a wonderfully inspiring time with spooky Halloween, roaring bonfire nights with sparkling fireworks and arguably the most important day… when Santa Claus comes to town.
Encouraged by this time of year we thought we would curate an edit of our iciest clear and blue gemstones in sterling silver and white gold that are sure to keep even Jack Frost in check. Starting with this month’s birthstone, November’s beautifully versatile topaz kicks off jewellery proceedings.
Topaz has stunning ice-like clarity and is a durable stone, bringing the bling without the diamond price tag. Try blue or clear for a frosty look.
White Agate is an unusual gemstone rarely seen but a true beauty to behold. Extremely subtle bands lineate throughout adding depth. White agate is a bold gem that really stands our against the skin so more than often a little touch will be all the accessory you need.
Tanzanite has been hailed as one of the world’s newest and rarest gemstones of the moment, possibly even more so than the diamond. As one of December’s birthstones, it’s cool blue and violet shades are certainly suited to the winter months. Currently only found in Tanzania, the site of the very few mines that can produce it, a rare touch of tanzanite is a must-have for the gemstone coveter’s collection.
Aquamarine, as it’s name reveals, has long been associated with water due to its crystal clear appearance yet with a light blue tinge. This gem was a no brainer for this edit. Light, sparkling and brilliantly glacial, March’s birthstone will make a glamourous snow queen of you yet!
As ever we’re keen to know what you think of our designs. Would you wear any of these beauties for a cool winter look?
